"Satan's School For Girls", Leann Hutchins and Me!

I married Frank Joiner Jr. at the age of 16....Yes, I'm from Weippe. Through out all my years growing up in Weippe, Idaho my Best Friend was Leann Hutchins. We spent a lot of time together, through thick and thin! Frank and I lived in a small house in town. I don't remember why he was not home for that night. Leann came over to spend the night with me, so not to be along. It was a Friday night. I remember that because Leann (same age as me) grew up as a Seventh Adventist. They don't do certain things during their Sabbath...like watching tv! Guess what we was doing....YES WATCHING A SCARY MOVIE on tv. That movie was "Satan's School For Girls"
This 8:00 movie was really scary! Leann and I was on the edge of our seats through this whole movie. Funny how something back then would scare us to the edge, like this movie did. Leann and I was getting right into. Towards the end and the scariest part of the movie, the phone rang...OMG...Scared us girls so bad, we both jumped out of our seats, looking at each other... SCREAMING. It wasn't until the phone rang a second time, that we realized it was the phone ringing. We turned off the sound just in case it was Leann's mom and sure enough it was. I look back at this night quite often. My children have heard this story and so have others that I've gotten to know through all the years. Every since then I have search for this movie cause I wanted to see it again. Wondering what it was that made it so scary then and wondered if it would be scary now.
I was living in Santa Rosa, Califonia about 13-14 years ago. My good friend, Bill Cox and I went to the big Mall there. We had stopped at a shop and was looking through some movies. Guess what I found....YES...."SATAN'S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS". There was several old movies on this one DVD. You bet I bought it! We watched it once we got back home.
WOW...funny, man movies have really come a long way. It was so very scary then but now....wow. Movies have really come a very long ways from what they use to be. But, at the time it was really, realy scary! Thank You, Leann for giving me such a great memory and something to talk about all these years.

A True Story About The Baby Chipmunks My Dad Brought Home In His Lunch Box

I was very young. We was living in Tamarack, Idaho. Debbie (my little sister) was probably 3 or 4 years old, I would have been 7 or 8 years old. My dad had the coolest logging truck EVER, it was a really pretty purple.
While dad was working they had sawed down a tree with out realizing there was a nest of baby chipmunks in it. I believe there was 11, don't quot me on that, I do know there was a lot of them and I'm pretty sure there was 11!
Dad felt really bad for these baby chipmunks. He decided that he would bring them home and when they got a little bigger, being able to take care of themselves, we could release them. He put them all in his lunch box, fed them bread crumbs from his sandwich, he closed the lid, making sure they had plenty of air and not get hurt. I believe their mom was killed when they fell the tree.
When he got home he placed the lunch box on the table, went to take his shower as he did every night. He forgot to tell mom about these little creatures. When she opened the lunch box all these little guys went ping, ping, ping every which way. Mom let out a scream like nothing us girls had ever heard before. We went running in to find out what was going on.
My poor mom! Debbie and I got to see a couple of these guys bailing out of dads lunch box. We got so excited and thought it was the coolest thing ever!!!!! We've lived in the woods most of our lives, grew up with chipmunks but never as a pet or pets as in this case. All these cool little guys had scattered every where. Dad came flying out of the bathroom with his bathrobe on to find out what was going on, soaking wet. Once he realized what was going on and realized he didn't tell mom about what she would find in his lunch box. He bursted out in laughter and then so did my mom. Us girls were so excited and happy.
We all then chased every one of them to catch them. Mom found a box to put them all in with jar lids for food and water. BUT little did we know or at least think about, they can chew and that they did! By morning when my folks got up to get dad off to work. These little chipmunks had chew through the box and was climbing the curtains, and running up and down everything.
Dad went to work and mom searched for something to put them in, that they couldn't chew their way out. Mom came up with an idea...surely it would work she thought. The clothes hamper in the bathroom was made out of some sort of medal, with holes in the back they would have plenty of air. This would work until we could get something like a cage or something to put them in.
We all went to bed that night, the chipmunks were asleep and cosy in their new little home. A day later, by morning....GUESS WHAT.....they were out and playing in the curtains and running around, YES AGAIN. The thing now is I don't remember what happened to them after this. I'm sure mom and dad found them all a good home in the woods where they belonged. They were so much fun to play with and they sure brought a lot of laughter into our home.

"Still Open for Business"

Nampa, Idaho -- The Rollerdrome roller-skate rink is still open for business after 62 years. There were around 200 people there of all ages on Saturday.

Every week it's a party at the Nampa Rollerdrome. Adults and kids have been coming to the Rollerdrome since 1948, and it's the only place in the Treasure Valley where you can break out those wheels on the weekend.

"I haven't been here for about 20 years, but I was raised here. Pretty much every weekend as a child," said Denise Becker.

Malt shops, sock hops and drive-in movies may be almost obsolete, but skates still roll on their original hard wood.

"It's still got the original floor out there," said Rollerdrome staff member, Lee Luckman.

"I get people in here all the time that say, 'I haven't skated in 35 years,' and then you just have to sit around and watch them and make sure they don't hurt themselves, because they're going to fall at least once," said Luckman.

Sixty-two years of the Hokey Pokey, Limbo and speed skating.

Skating has evolved a bit, though. The four wheels have shifted, and the question now is skates or roller blades?

"The kids that grew up on roller skates, and the adults that grew up on roller skates will never give them up," said Luckman.

"I am very thankful that it's still open, just because I really thought they would close it, but it's good family fun," said Becker.

It's located in downtown Nampa. The big skate sign is right off of 1st Street.

In addition to their speed and hockey leagues, they put on great events -- all-night skating sessions, birthday parties, prize days, and fundraisers, just to name a few.

It's not a bad idea for any day of the week. Go to www.namparollerdrome.net for more information.

"Rollerdrome Skaters Speeding Towards Top" Say's Channel 7 NBC News, (this is My Son, Jeremy!)

The video for the statement below was air Saturday, March 20th, 2010. The video is of my son, Jeremy and his coaching of the Rollerdrome Speed Skaters. The photo that I have here was taken from that video.
Jeremy has been doing Speed Skating since his very early teens. He has raced all over the United States. Even race with some Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze Racers a few years back in Las Vegas, Nevada and he came in about the 12th if I remember rightly. He even won the chance to go to the Olympic's for 2001 in Australia. But he got into Roller Hockey and learned his love for the sport. So he choose to do the Hockey. Which he is amazing at. He's been Idaho's BEST HOCKEY Player, TOP SCORER etc.... Jeremy's son, Nike started roller skating at the age of 3, he just turned 6. He also plays Hockey. And he is also on the Speed Stating team!!! Jeremy as recreated Rollerdrome Speed Skating Again. For the past year he has brought it back and now has teams that will be competing in the Nations. Channel 7 NBC News got it right, Jeremy will be taking it TO THE TOP!
In the story below they mention of two 2nd place WINNERS (they were racing in Alburn, Washington) one of the 2 Place Winners was my Grandson (Jeremy's son) NIKE, 5 years old at the time and his very first race ever. Yes... I see the Olympic's in my son and grandson's future! I am so, so very PROUD OF YOU, JEREMY AND YOU TOO, NIKE. I AM YOUR #1 FAN.

NAMPA -- Speed skater Apollo Ohno inspired a lot of people during the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, including a group of skaters in Nampa.

Members of the Rollerdrome Speed Skating team practice in Nampa at the Rollerdrome Skating Center.

Think of Rollerdrome like Olympic short track speed skating -- only instead of ice skates -- these speedy people are on in-line skates.

Head Coach Jeremy Campbell said it takes physical and mental skills.

“It is a very fun and active sport,” Campbell said. “Not only does it keep you fit, it keeps your mind sharp. It's not only focused on fast skating, there's a lot of thinking involved.”

The team competed last month in Washington state and earned two second place finishes.

The Rollerdrome team has another competition next month.

World's First 200 mph street bike, I Met "Henry Louie" Who Broke The First Speed Record On This Bike!

SUZUKI GSXR1100 Turbo
World's First 200 mph street bike
This is the one that started the modern turbo era. The first blow-thru carb, first intercooled, first 200 mph street motorcycle; the first fuel injected, 8 injector, individual throttle body system. Multiple 200 mph club records. Seems to have stirred up the best and worst in people. We had fuel-injected (Bosch) intercooled BMWs two years earlier but the shaft drive limited their box-stock top speed. The RB Racing Intercooled GSXR put Henry Louie into the double-two club i.e., 200 mph Bonneville and 200 mph El Mirage in the same year.! Henry went on to become president of the Southern California Timing Association Bonneville Nationals at the age of 67!
Stock engined Suzuki GSXR 1100 with an intercooled RB Racing turbo kit at Bonneville. Get an idea of what it's like to be on the line and go for record.

Suzukis are tough

GSXR's are tough--Keep the RPM below 11,000, use water injection above 10 psi. Don't put any trick ignitions on them. Run 35 degrees full advance drop you spark gap to.019", use NGK Race plugs, and you can get 272-350 hp. About 18 psi and 272 hp @ 10,000 rpm is enough to do anything. No one believes us but we do not recommend boring the motors, big blocks or Carrillo rods. If you over-rev them past the stock redline you will sooner or later crack the crankshaft. Stay with Suzuki's internal balance factors, they did a better job than you will. These are violent, sudden toys that get your attention fast...and will get you if you don't pay attention.

Henry Louie had everybody in the world race his bikes with about zero maintenance after we stopped our full time support of his record attempts. No one got hurt and a lot of people got their competition licenses. At one point Henry had the fastest bike of the meet in 27 contests. You have to carefully maintain the GSXR if you want to play with the big dogs, just ask Henry or Rick.
RSR Boost Compression Ratio Calculator

Click on the title above to go to our RSR Boost Compression Ratio Calculator. This allows you to run scenarios of how boost affects your effective compression ratio as modified by altitude considerations. It will give you a good idea as to why turbos go so fast and also how to plan your motor for your particular circumstances. Knowledge is power.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away
We don't make these any more so don't ask. In as much as the kit was actually designed in 1987 (we used a Canadian 750 with a GSXR1100 motor and 6 speed trans) we would do it a bit differently now, with higher output turbos and our dual computer fuel strategy...but it's all ancient history now. Several people like Rick and Henry have asked us to redo their GSXR to designs more like our ZX-11s but no one wants to pay for it...or they want free parts so they can do it themselves. Go figure. Please remember these were designed in 1987-1988 and like Dr. Martin Luther King we have already been to the mountain and seen the promised land The blow thru carb kits were sold for $4,500.00 and the EFI kits were sold for $6,500.00.

No we don't sell
Oh one final point for all of you who have copied these parts, please stop calling us up wanting to know how to make them work or wanting the parts you don't know how to make.

Now Henry Louie lives in Boise, Idaho and has the "Big Twin Cycles", I got to meet this man and WHAT AN HONOR!!! He is such a sweet man. The top photo was taken when he took the Speed Racing Record to 200 mph. The bottom photo I took of him, he is now 83 years old. Thank You Henry for giving me that hug!

The House and Dock That Was Used In the Horror Movie "Friday the 13th" And TV Series "Northern Exposure"

On the 12th of March 2010 my husband and I had gone with 9 of our friends. We all do the Mountain Man Rendezvous here in the Northwest. This was not a Rendezvous but it was the "Muzzle Loading Arms and Pioneer Craft Show" at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington.
This was my husband and I's first time. We camped at the Boy Scouts Camp outside of Monroe, called "Camp Pigott". Really nice place and a lot of fun.
On the way going into Camp Pigott of the Boy Scout Camp there was a cool looking old, old log cabin sitting on a small lake. It looked kind of spooky but also familiar. And I later found out why!
Later when one of the Camp Rangers got there we asked them if anyone lived in the old cabin. WOW we found out how cool this cabin really was!!!
This cool cabin was used a couple of times in the horror movie "Friday the 13th", "Jason" was the main character and a spooky one at that. In my photo here, I am standing in front of the cabin, standing on the same dock that Jason in these movie came out from under to kill his victim's. I walked out to the very end of this dock. It was a really creepy feeling out there even though I knew it was just a flippin' movie. But this place was so, so cool! I don't know what scenes where constructed at this place, I just think it's the cats meow to have the honor to have stumbled on this treasure!
Also...this same cabin was used in the TV Series "Northern Exposure". This is probably on of the main reason why it looked so familiar. I watched this show alot when I was living in California for 6-7 years. The character "Maurice J. Minnifield" was played by actor Barry Corbin, lived in this same cabin in the TV Series "Northern Exposure". This I felt was the neatest thing of this whole trip. Thank You Camp Pigott for letting us camp here and explore this amazing cabin!!

Please Understand My Story The Other Day

The story of my dad that I wrote the other day is a hard story, but please understand even though this happened we had a lot of really good times, too. We traveled to lots of really neat places, camped, went to the North Fork of the Clearwater River and so much more. There was only four beatings that really I remember. Every weekend we usually did something fun. My dad was a hard working man. And he provided for us. So I have to say the good out weighted the bad of him. I'm not excusing what he had done, I am saying that most of the time he was okay and fun to be with. But there is still a very thin line between love and hate. Please understand the older I got things got better between my dad and my mom.

Mom...This Is For You

Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name.
All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part.
God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

As I Watch In Horror As My Dad Beat My Beautiful Mom

From a young age of memories of my dads beating on my mom are horrifying. My first memory that I can think of was in Council, Idaho. I was very, very young, maybe 1st or 2nd grade. Debbie my baby sister is 4 years younger than I. There's a motel by the last corner of this tiny town and this is where it all happened.
I don't recall what lead up to this, I wish that this whole thing was block out but it's not. No memory of what started this horrible beating.
What I remember is dad beating on my mom somehow it ended up in the tiny bathroom. Debbie and I were sleeping on roll away beds. When it started I grabbed Debbie and under the roll away we went. I tried so hard to hide Debbie's eyes and there was no way that I could cover her ears too. I don't know what she remembers.
When the fight made it to the bathroom all hell broke loose. The bathroom sink was just a single sink, white! This I will never forget. There was no counter like sinks have now a days, it was only attached to the wall. Dad started slamming moms face on this sink. I watch in horror as more blood started covering the white sink. The sink started to come off the wall and it was no longer white but red from my mama's blood.
I remember someone pounding on the door. Everything stopped. I remember a lady tending to my mom. Some man too. Last thing that I can remember now is of me cleaning up the blood off this sink as it laid on the FLOOR, bawling and this lady sitting on the bed cleaning up mom, as mom cried and Debbie sitting on her lap, crying too. I don't know what happened to dad...did he go to jail...I don't know. But that wasn't the end of many years of horror.
Another beating I remember of horror was in Tamarack, Idaho. My dad was a logger. We was living in a tiny, tiny trailer. You had to walk through a tiny bed room with bunk beds on one side and through the tiny bathroom to get to the back bedroom that only fit a full size bed. I remember a door that lead outside in this room. The living room and kitchen was all one room. I know this is where we moved to from Council, Idaho. I was in the 2nd grade.
Mom had bought a Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass record album this day. Dad came home and Debbie and I was a sleep in their bed. Why? I don't know. But a argument started because of this record. Apparently dad hated Herb Albert. What I remember next was mom laying in this tiny hallway that went through our room and the bathroom on her back, NAKED! Dad was still fully dressed with his steal toed boots and kicking mom in the crotch with these boots. The next thing that I can remember is mom, Debbie and I are in the car heading to Walla Walla, Washington to live with my Grandpa Joe (my moms step dad, my moms mom had already passed away). My mom later took as all back to be with dad again. Years later she told me why and I will tell you that at the end of my story. I have talked to Debbie after dad had died about this night, she remembers this beating and she remembers her and I trying to pull dad off of mom. This I don't remember how weird is that? Now on to the next horror story.
We had moved to Weippe, Idaho. Every summer we would go to White Bird, Idaho. This is where we were living when I was born, but I was born in Grangeville where the nearest hospital was. We always stayed at Jim and Jo Killgore's in White Bird. Dad was always helping Jim in the orchards. Jim and Jo had a daughter Camille, who I became very close to.
One weekend while we were there. Dad and mom had gone in to White Bird apparently they were drinking. They had got into another major fight. Dad decided he was taking mom home back to Weippe leaving my sister and I at Killgore's. Camille, Debbie and I always slept out on the second floor open porch (like a balcony) that wrapped around the whole house. Very, very old house, but neat how it was built. We were sound asleep when a police car had pulled into the drive way. It was 3:00 a.m. Us girls watch from the balcony wondering what was going on. The officer went to the passenger's side of the car, we realized the lady in the car was my mom. Her clothes were a mess and dirty and torn some. She had scratches on her face and arms. By the time they got to the door Jim and Jo and us girls met them at the front door. Mom was crying and I already knew my dad had done this.
The officer was telling Jim and Jo about a couple that was going up (at the time it was the old White Bird Grade, lots of switch back turns and nothing to stop you from going straight down the side).(Now it is a 7% grade.) behind my parents pickup truck. They saw my mom fall out of the truck and over the side of the mountain. This couple went to the Police in Grangeville and told them what they saw. They also said the truck kept on going not stopping. They weren't sure if the lady was pushed or if she jumped. She didn't jump I can tell you that...I know she didn't!
They followed the couple to where this had happened, they yelled for her, they didn't know her name. She was unconscious. So at this point they wasn't sure if she was still there somewhere but the didn't stop looking. They called for more to come and with flash lights and flood lights, they started combing the hillside. This was dangerous because there are a lot of rattle snakes in this area. After a couple of hours they found her and they had an ambulance there and she refused to take it to Grangeville. She wanted to go to White Bird, where her little girls were at. So the officer brought her to Jim and Jo's. Dad never showed up here, he kept on going to Weippe.
Years later after mom finally had enough, I was 16 years old at this time. She devoriced dad and got the hell out of there. I aked her before she died...Why? Did
she stayed with dad all those years and to my surpize she told me "FOR YOU GIRLS!" So we would grow up with both parents. I will never do this to my children. There is a very thin line between LOVE and HATE! I hated my dad so, so bad but I loved him too. Guess I have never got over all this and I probably never will.
Please if you have a spouse that is this way too, please get out FOR THE KIDS!!!!!!
