Clearwater County, Idaho Obituary of My Dad: Leroy Kannada

Leroy Kannada, 79
Leroy Kannada of White Bird died Monday, July 7 at St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood. Leroy was born Jan. 4, 1924 at Little Rock, Ark. He started school in Arkansas and then the family moved to Wenatchee, Wash., where he graduated from high school. After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII as a pilot flying B-24 bombers. Following his discharge he moved to Idaho, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and logger in the Weippe, Pierce and White Bird areas. He married Bonnie Brumley Oct. 9, 1992. He retired in 1999. Leroy enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing mechanics. Survivors include his wife Bonnie at the family home; daughters Debbie Haskins of Cascade, Lillian Scott of Caldwell, Toni Campbell of Clear Lake, Calif. and Patty Hosman of Des Moines, IA; stepsons John Brumley of Coeur d'Alene, Nathan Brumley of Meridian and Bonner Brumley of White Bird; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; a brother William Tidmore of Oklahoma and three sisters, Lillian Hatcher of Okla., Cortez Pike and Lavada McCarthy, both of Wash. A graveside inurnment service will be held Friday, July 11 at the White Bird Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville.
