Ahhhhhhhhhhh My Deam...Sam Elliott!

Samuel Pack "Sam" Elliott (born August 9, 1944) is an American actor. In films, he is often characterized by his rangy physique, thick horseshoe moustache and deep, resonant speaking voice.

Early life
Sam Elliott was born in Sacramento, California, to a physical training instructor mother and a father who worked for the Department of the Interior. He moved from California to Oregon with his family during his teenage years, where he graduated from David Douglas High School in Portland. He attended Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, where he completed a two-year program and was cast as one of the leads in "Guys and Dolls." The local newspaper suggested that Elliott should be a professional actor. Soon after, Elliott declared he was going to Hollywood to become a star. Elliott is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Cal State L.A.. He worked in construction while studying acting in Los Angeles. Elliott also lived for a short time in Princeton, West Virginia. He lives in California and his mother still lives in Portland, not far from David Douglas High School.

A Very True Saying

The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when
the hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own. Live, love, toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the clock may soon be still

1910 Ford Model R

THE YEAR IS 1910

This will boggle your mind, I know it did mine!

************ ********* ***********

The year is 1910
One hundred years ago.
What a difference a century makes!
Here are some statistics for the Year 1910:

************ ********* ************

The average life expectancy for men was 47 years.

Fuel for this car was sold in drug stores only.

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower !

The average US wage in 1910 was 22 cents per hour.

The average US worker made between $200 and $400 per year.

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,
A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births took place at HOME.

Ninety percent of all Doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION!

Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which

Were condemned in the press AND the government as 'substandard.'

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo.

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason.

The Five leading causes of death were:

1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.

The population of Las Vegas , Nevada , was only 30!

Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write and

Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores.

Back then pharmacists said, 'Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind,

Regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health'

( Shocking? DUH! )

Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE U.S.A. !

Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.

IT STAGGERS THE MIND

Been A Long, Long Time Since.....

It's so hard just to wait another 2 weeks for all my kids to be living in the same town as myself! All my grandchildren will be in the same town as myself! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays, etc. will no longer be seperated by miles! Now all that money that was spent in the last few years on sending packages can now be spent on the good things in life!!!! On Them!!!! No more skypeing to watch my grand-daughter grow up. Will get to be with her on her very first birthday! Grandpa is happy too! Just wish my mama was alive to see them all again!

Wasn't This Us? Oh How I Miss Those Good Ol' Days

A little house with three bedrooms,
one bathroom and one car on the street.
A mower that you had to push
to make the grass look neat.

In the kitchen on the wall
we only had one phone,
And no need for recording things,
someone was always home.

We only had a living room
where we would congregate,
unless it was at mealtime
in the kitchen where we ate.

We had no need for family rooms
or extra rooms to dine.
When meeting as a family
those two rooms would work out fine.

We only had one TV set
and channels maybe three,
But always there was one of them
with something worth to see.

For snacks we had potato chips
that tasted like a chip.
And if you wanted flavor
there was Lipton's onion dip.

Store-bought snacks were rare because
my mother liked to cook
and nothing can compare to snacks
in Betty Crocker's book.

Weekends were for family trips
or staying home to play.
We all did things together --
even go to church to pray.

When we did our weekend trips
depending on the weather,
no one stayed at home because
we liked to be together.

Sometimes we would separate
to do things on our own,
but we knew where the others were
without our own cell phone.

Then there were the movies
with your favorite movie star,
and nothing can compare
to watching movies in your car.

Then there were the picnics
at the peak of summer season,
pack a lunch and find some trees
and never need a reason.

Get a baseball game together
with all the friends you know,
have real action playing ball --
and no game video.

Remember when the doctor
used to be the family friend,
and didn't need insurance
or a lawyer to defend?

The way that he took care of you
or what he had to do,
because he took an oath and strived
to do the best for you.

Remember going to the store
and shopping casually,
and when you went to pay for it
you used your own money?

Nothing that you had to swipe
or punch in some amount,
and remember when the cashier person
had to really count?

The milkman used to go
from door to door,
And it was just a few cents more
than going to the store.

There was a time when mailed letters
came right to your door,
without a lot of junk mail ads
sent out by every store.

The mailman knew each house by name
and knew where it was sent;
there were not loads of mail addressed
to "present occupant."

There was a time when just one glance
was all that it would take,
and you would know the kind of car,
the model and the make.

They didn't look like turtles
trying to squeeze out every mile;
they were streamlined, white walls, fins
and really had some style.

One time the music that you played
whenever you would jive,
was from a vinyl, big-holed record
called a forty-five.

The record player had a post
to keep them all in line
and then the records would drop down
and play one at a time.

Oh sure, we had our problems then,
just like we do today
and always we were striving,
trying for a better way.

Oh, the simple life we lived
still seems like so much fun,
how can you explain a game,
just kick the can and run?

And why would boys put baseball cards
between bicycle spokes
and for a nickel, red machines
had little bottled Cokes?

This life seemed so much easier
and slower in some ways.
I love the new technology
but I sure do miss those days.

So time moves on and so do we
and nothing stays the same,
but I sure love to reminisce
and walk down memory lane.

MY PROMISE TO MY CHILDREN:

I will stalk you, freak out on you, lecture you, drive
you crazy, be your worst nightmare, embarrass you in front of your
friends, hunt you down like a bloodhound, until the day you understand
why I do it. Then I'll know you are a responsible adult. ......All
......because I LOVE YOU
♥ You will never find someone who loves you and
cares about you more than ME, your Mother ♥

My Results To This Quiz Was "MOUNTAINMAN", I Agree!

Tonie took the "Buckskinner, Muleskinner, Mountain Man or Flat Lander" quiz and the result is Mountain Man.
You seek a simpler time, but one that requires mastering skills long lost in time. Your ability to overcome the bonds of civiliazation makes you a prime canidate to walk off into the woods and live off the land. Your heart is strong and your wits unbeatable. If the Moun...tains were to call to you today you would answer with a primal screem echoing through the valleys.
I know I could survive! Can You? I have been trained by the BEST!

We do the Mountainman Rendezvous's in Oregon and Idaho. My favorite one is in Oregon at Seneca, Oregon. It is the weekend of Memorial Day. This photo was taken there in 2009. In this photo right to left is "Shawnee" (my husband Gd), "Whipperwill" (me) and our dear, dear friend "Little Bear" (Kim). The year this was taken I tyed for second place in the pistol with Acorn but her tye breaker was better than mine. So I got 3rd. I love it!!!!!!
We shoot black powder guns, rifles and pistols, throw tomahawks and knives, and dress the part of 1840's - 1850's fur traders... etc. It is so much fun and tomorrow we are going there again. My favorite place to be!!!! Wish me luck!

Happy Mother's Day (I Miss You Mom!) To All You Mom's That Read This On My Blog!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up...

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother.....

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn’t know everything!

14 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother? She wouldn’t have a clue.
.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's so five minutes ago.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Who Was I In My Past Life (a test I took on facebook)

A Romantic Poet
You know how you're kind of...you know...sensitive? There's a good reason for that. Long, long ago, you were a romantic poet - the kind that made all the ladies swoon with your sexy sonnets. Even if you're not much of a poet now, you've still got a lot of creativity brewing in your soul. And you've got a strong ability to notice details and understand other people's emotions. If you ever have writer's block or just need some creative inspiration, try to harness some of that poet power in your soul's past.

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR FAMOUS RELATIVES THAT WE HAVE ON OUR "FAMILY TREE". A LOT OF RESEARCH!

I have done many years of research, there are still many Kings, Queens, ...etc. that I haven't added to this list yet. We have our tree researched clear back to YES.... to the year 0018. Believe me it wasn't easy. Years, Years and More Years of Research. I started this research because my dad didn't know who his dad was. I know that I have found him. His name is the same as my dad's and I know from dad's birth certificate where he was from. I found only one gentleman named Leroy Kannedy Sr. in Kingman Co. Kansas. I have people disagreeing with my find on him. Because this gentleman was married to someone else. He was a truck driver, GIVE ME A BREAK. I know it's him! So I have agreed to remove him. But, until I have prof it's not him I refuse to remove him from my privite records. My dad's birth name was Leroy Kannedy Jr. Until his Military Records were burned in the Record Building back east and dad never changed their mistake on his name.

Mama, I Miss You!

I wish Heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new, I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart.....But I Still Miss You Mama! ♥

A Moment Of A Memory

I drove up beside my sister one day in Caldwell several years ago and rolled my window down and told her, "Your wheels are turning!" She motioned for me to pull off the road with her.I did. She got out of the car and asked me what was wrong with her wheels, I looked at her and said "well they aren't doing it now", she said "what aren't they doing?", I said "they were turning before you stopped, they aren't now" she proceed to run after me and almost caught up with me cause I was laughing so hard
I remembered this story when I was instant messaging with my dearest friend Glena, thanks!

My Amanda Rae's, 53rd Birthday Present For Me Was An Over 2 Hour Trip To Some Hot Springs, Thank You Sweetie

My daughter, Amanda Rae, who I almost lost to a kidnapper when she was in Kindergarden, wanted to take me to some hot springs for her birthday present to me. It was over a 2 hour trip. Washboard dirt road. But well worth the drive. Beautiful country. On the way up there we spotted a huge cave in the cliff side of the road. We stopped and that is the photo of Amanda Rae climbing up towards the cave.
There was a couple of kids about Amanda's age that was camped not too far from the hot springs. One of their name's is Jacob and he and Amanda hit it off very well, the other one didn't stick around. Jacob and Amanda even exchange phone numbers. He plays drums and guitar. Amanda's dad has given her a drum set a year or so ago. Jacob wants to help Amanda learn how to play. Thank You, My Amanda Rae for a very special day with you. I had a blast and I loved spending the day with you.

My Response to All My Face Book Family and Friends:
I want to Thank Every One Of My Facebook Friends and Family for all of the Happy Birthday Wishes. I never thought that so many would be there. You "All" Sure Know How To Make A Girl Feel Special. I had a Great 53 Birthday. Thank You All!
The photo's above are of my Birthday Cake that my bosses from work (Southside Floral) got me.
And the 3-D plague is One of my birthday presents from my husband! This is the type of man he is, on our very first date I wore a white dress. He wears hats (couple of them are like the one the guy wears in this picture) and my husband always wears suspenders. This reminded him of us. Now how super special is this? Mighty!!!!!

I had the most amazing 53rd Birthday, my husband even took me out to dinner to my most favorite place to eat, "The Golden Corral". I Love My Life!

(NOTE) The plaque, I have loaded on here several different ways, made it smaller, flipped it on it's side, upside down and I don't understand why my blog wants to keep putting it in the wrong position. Apparently it has a mind of it's own for how this picture should be today, WHAT THE HECK, Oh well, I tried and guess it's just going to have to be. Sorry that you have to lay on your side to view it. LOL

Poems Written By My Daughter And I That Was Published In A Coffee Table Book

Back about 1999 or 2000, don't exactly remember. I had wrote a poem to my youngest daughter Amanda Rae, called "Amanda Rae, My Little One" and she wrote one in response to my poem called "Thank You".
I sent these 2 poems to Poetry.com. We both won and what we got was our poems published in what is called "A Coffee Table Book". Here are those 2 poems.

"Amanda Rae, My Little One"
Amanda Rae, she's my little one!
On her special little throne she sits upon,
Just for her it was made.
She's the last little part of me I help make.
Born of such beauty,
with hazel eyes such as I.
And hair of golden hue.
She will always be my Little One!
Hope she knows how much she is LOVED
And how much I so miss my
Amanda Rae, my Little One!
I LOVE YOU...
Always,
MOM
(written by Tonie Lynn Campbell, copyright 2008)

Her response poem

"Thank You"
Thank you for the day I was born,
Thank you for my first word,
Thank you for the day my fish died,
Thank you for everything I tried,
Thank you for the day I say my vows,
Thank you for my first house,
Thank you for me,
Thank you for you.

The Attempted Kidnapping At Centennial Elementary, Nampa, Idaho Of My Little Amanda Rae

On October 11th. 1993 Stephanie Craine, age 9 was kidnapped in Challis, Idaho. My husband's best friend was the Detective that was working on that case. This case was never solved. I never thought in a million years this could ever happen to me. The reason my memory recalls this so well is because in March of 1994, my Stephanie was in the 1st grade and Little Amanda Rae was in Kindergarden at the Centennial Elementary School here in Nampa, Idaho. I will never forget this day and I know Amanda Rae will never forget it either. This is what happened.
A week before this had happened there was an attempted kidnapping on a teenage girl over in Boise, it failed. But same description of the car and the man driving it tried to get my daughter, too.
The school had an area for the buses only, no vehicle are allow in this area! All the kids that rides buses wait in the lines. And for unknown reasons there weren't any school monitors near by on this day.
A black Monte Carlo drove into the bus area, right next to the buses. A man wearing a black cap, a black t-shirt with an eagle in the back, black jeans and the thing that Amanda will remember forever are the snake skin cowboy looking boots this man was wearing. This mans hair had probably been dyed, because his beard was salt and peppered. This with what the police said, because his hair the week before was salt and peppered then.
This man got out of his car, walked over to my Little Amanda Rae, who was standing in the bus line, grabbed her, taking her to his car. He proceeded to try to put her in his car. Thank God for a young man who was sitting on his front step across from the school, saw this little girl who was not wanting to get put in this car, realizing some thing was wrong. He sent his girlfriend's sister into the house to call the police and he came running, making a commotion so someone would notice this guy trying to put this little girl in the car that she didn't want to get into. The guy let Amanda go and she ran to find her sister. Mike, the young man who came to Amanda's rescue knew that he needed to get the license plate, but there was none on the front or back!!!!!!! This car and man drove off and disappeared never to be seen again, at least not in this area!
The police shortly arrived, some went to search for that car, not to be found. We spent a lot of time with the police that day. A day that will never, ever be forgotten! I almost lost my little girl that day and she almost lost us! I never dreamed that this would happen to me or anyone else I knew. It just doesn't happen that way, right? WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! The next day, half of the front page of our local newspaper was about this attempted kidnapping of Little Amanda Rae.
A week later in Ontario, Oregon a young boy wasn't so lucky! They were pretty sure it was the same man and car. I never heard if they ever found that little boy. God I hope so. And I, have never gotten word that they have ever found this man. I hope somewhere that they have and put him 6 feet under! I pray that he isn't out there somewhere. There was an Angel there that day, his name is Mike!!!!

My Cure For "Mom, I Forgot My Homework At Home, Can You Bring It To School For Me" Blues

My son, Jeremy always did his homework, NEVER forgot to take it to school! BUT.... his sisters weren't so lucky! Stephanie only a couple of times but my Dear Little Amanda Rae was ALWAYS FORGETTING her home work at home.
We was living in Santa Rosa, California. The girls were going to the Sheppard Elementary School. Great school, I must say.
I would get a phone call in the morning from my Little Amanda Rae. Telling me that she forgot her homework could I please bring it to school. We lived walking distant, but I had a bicycle that I usually rode. This happened more than enough times, I had to come up with a new idea, because grounding didn't work, not getting to do some fun things didn't work. So I put my little head to work on my new idea.
And this is what I did..... AND IT WORKED....IT REALLY WORKED.... SO WELL THAT THE TEACHER'S STARTED TELLING OTHER PARENT'S WHAT I DID, SO THEY COULD USE IT, TOO!!!!
Each time I got that phone call.....
I would either put a couple of hair rollers in my hair on one side and rat the other side, every time I would mix it up, I would roll up "one" pant leg, with "a" wild stripped color sock on that foot, and "a" solid color of sock on the other foot, this pant leg normal. One time I wore shoes that didn't match, my shirt partly untuck, wear my makeup only on one side and not the other, even wore a "Jester" hat once or twice. Anything that would be out of the norm for me. And I gladly went to her school and straight to her class room and WALKED RIGHT IN!!!! I always rode my bike, actually it was a lot of fun. BUT GUESS WHAT! THE PHONE CALLS ENDED, SHE LEARNED THAT SHE BETTER TAKE HER HOMEWORK TO SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HER MOM WOULD COME UP WITH NEXT.
The Sheppard Elementary Teachers were amazed in my effort and how well it really worked. They told me that they were telling other parents who had the same problem, of what I had done and how well and quickly it worked.
I Love My Kids and I Would Do Anything That Will Help Them To Get It Right!
And this is my story!

As The Head Lights Hit The Wall, I Knew It Was A Police Car Sitting In My Driveway

It was about 1993. My kids and I loved to drag out our pillows and blankets, lay on the livingroom floor, snuggle up and watch tv together. We did this a lot. Yes...Little Mermaid and what ever they wanted to watch, even if we've watched it a million times before. Or I would read to them.
But on this certain night it was just Stephanie about 7 years old and Amanda Rae about 4 years old and myself. Jeremy was 16 years old and out with his friends. The girls had fell asleep so I turn off the lights and the tv, laid with them as they loved to cuddle.
I don't remember what time it was when the living room door opened. I could tell by the light that had hit the living room wall... was that of a police car. Jeremy says to me, "Don't get up mom, I will tell you in a minute what happened", I asked him "Is that a Policeman outside?" "Yes" he tells me. He promised to tell me what was happening and I knew that he would and be honest about it, he has never lied to me. Still to this day and he's 32 now, hasn't!
So...my son goes through the house, flipping on all the lights and hollering "Mom?" as he did. After doing this he goes back outside and talks with the Officer. My son comes back into the house, shutting the door behind him. He sits down beside me and tells me the whole story, how he was at a party, the Police showed up and busted it up. The Officer that brought Jeremy home was one that I knew because we got to know a lot of them when there was a drive by shooting of Jeremy's sister, Stacie's home. Jeremy told me the whole story, this Officer wanted to talk to me but Jeremy wanted to tell me first. That's why he came into the house and did as he did. Jeremy told the Officer that he would have me call him in the morning, that he promised he would tell me everything, he never broke that promise. I called that Officer that next morning. Everything was okay! I am VERY PROUD OF MY SON!

Happy Easter Mama, R.I.P. (My letter to my mama)

Dear Mama,
Heaven 2001, R.I.P.
Written Easter Sunday, March 4th, 2010
Hi mama,
Lillian and I came to see you today. We placed 3 beautiful roses in your vase. One for Lillian and her families. One for Debbie and her family. And one from Me and my families.
Then Lillian and I went to the Sportsman's Bar where you and dad (Bill) use to go. We had one beer together, (something her and I have never done before) and talked about how we missed you. I couldn't get her to play a game of pool with me though. LOL.
Mama... I miss you so, so much. A lot has happened since you went away. The day of your funeral one of your tulips actually came out and bloomed in the snow. I knew then you were finally okay and out of pain.
Well, Jeremy grew up to be so handsome, is going to be 33 years old this year. He's still very much in love with Stevanie and and she very much loves him. I'm glad that you were still here when they were married. They have a little boy, his name is "Nike" Jeremy Steven Campbell, (looked so tiny like Jeremy when he has born) yes... Nike like the tennis shoe and that's just how Nike will tell you if you call him Mikey. He is 6 years old now and mama you should see him skate. Yea he skates just like his daddy, though I bet you already know this. Mom, wish you could hold him and tickle him and give him Halloween candy or hide eggs and watch him look for them, watch his eye light up when he sees all those presents on Christmas Day that are for him. He's so adorable mama.
Stephanie grew up to be absolutely beautiful, is now 23 years old, married Jacob DeBerg, she met him at the Campbell's family reunion. He was a friend of Rick, Kathy's husband. In December she had a little baby girl and I got to watch her be born, later I cried that night cause I was wishing you were here. Her name is Araeah Faith DeBerg. She looks like Stephanie, and guess what, you remember how everyone said that she had your lower lip, Araeah has it too! Stephanie and I talk about that a lot. She is so beautiful.
And my little Amanda Rae, she has grown up to be absolutely gorgeous. she's a little lost right now. Could you please keep an eye one her for me. Give her a little guiding, she'll be okay I know. I worry about her and I can't help it, she's my baby girl. She bought a 25th Anniversary Corvette on her 19th birthday, it sits out here at our place, it cost too much to drive. I gave her my old car. Hard to believe she is going to be 21 this month and that really scares me! I am going to take her to the Holiday Inn in Caldwell, so she can get her first Birthday drink at the same place I got mine.
Well, mama a handsome and very sweet and gentle man swept me off my feet, his name is Gerald. He treats me like a queen. I know that you would be very proud of me, I have a 2001 Dodge, Dakota pickup a lot like Lillian's that dad left her when he died. We have a 5 bedroom home with 3 quarters of an acre lawn and 1 quarter of an acre of field and also a 2009 GMC pickup. I still have Little One who was born right after you died.
Well mama, I love you and think of you every single day and talk to you often, I hope that you hear me. Holiday's are still really hard for me. I always seem to cry. I promise to write to you again some day.
I LOVE AND I MISS YOU! Hugs and Kisses
Your Loving Daughter

Yes... My Mama Was A Truck Driver, With 18 Wheels Beneath Me!

I was 21 years old and drove a 1976 Peterbilt Cabover, This truck had a whopping fuel capacity of 450 gallons, had a 15 speed overdrive trans and a 400 Cummins BC 3 engine. There wasn't very many ladies driving back in 1978 when I was. I drove for 3 years for Western Agriculture in Caldwell, Idaho. I hauled McDonald's French Fries out of Simplot's. I first drove on a sleeper team while I was learning. This was before the required CDL's they have now. On the day of my first solo trip which they were sending me to San Francisco, California, oh these guys were good at teaching me good lessons. LOL! The guys got me, my very own cap that said "How's Your Peter Built?" And yes, you bet I wore it! My boss sent me out knowing that if I drove and rested when and where he told me that it would put me in the San Francisco, California area about 3:00 in the afternoon, just in time for the beginning of the 5:00 rush hour! And that is what happened. I inched my way to my destination. OMG. But I did learn.
After a few trips like that, people started calling me "Mama Trucker" and Jeremy... they called him "Pee Wee Trucker". How funny...they called my truck "Play Pen On Wheels". I never drove the winter months, my biggest fear was of jack knifing. NOPE, NOPE!!!! Another big fear was getting a flat on my cab.
One trip coming back from California, I had to stop and pick up some huge plastic containers. At this place, they also made those plastic children's strollers they use at Marine Land in the shape of a Dolphin. These guys thought a lot of Jeremy and enjoyed playing with my little guy, so cute. They let him climb all over one of those dolphin, it hadn't been cut for the legs, no wheels or anything, just fresh out of the mold. Because Jeremy was having so much fun with it the guys decided it needed to follow him home. And that.... it did. For several years we would take that dolphin to the lake so I could push Jeremy around in the water, cause it floated. He played on it for many years. Thank You Guys!
Jeremy is the one in the photo above, he is my son, he is now 32. He was born June of 1977. He was a year old when I started driving. My little guy went with me every where I went...YES... Even on the truck.
My last trip was to California in 1980. I was coming back, 20 miles outside of Fallon, Nevada there is a little hill with a corner and at the bottom is a cattle guard. As soon as my rig got to the cattle guard it died right there in the middle of NOWHERE!!! There just happened to be a wide spot just on the other side of the road so I managed to get my rig coasted that far. There, Jeremy and I sat, not a single car went by finally about an hour of sitting there, another semi went by and I caught him on the CB, asked him to get a hold of a mechanic and ask him to come out, because I had a dead rig. A second one came by and I got a hold of him too on the CB also and asked him to do the same, he said he would. 3 hours we sat there, but my prayers were answered and the mechanic showed up. We rolled my cab up and he managed to get it running... Thank The Good Lord. The mechanic told me not to turn it off for any reason because it won't start again. THEN he told me that if I'm going to sit here for any longer that he advised me to lock me and Jeremy up in the cab and not answer the door to anyone, I asked him "why?", he went on to tell me that the weekend before there was a truck driver and his wife murdered and they had a little baby left there to starve. Guess what, I got the heck out of there and head straight for home. That was my last trip. Now there are hundreds of women driving. I have one other story to add to this but at a later day. It is a sad one and a long one to tell. I wonder if my son remembers ever riding in my truck for those 3 summers?

Stephanie's Text Message to her brother, Jeremy and his response

Stephanie thought she would pull a fast one on Jeremy. It kind of back fired on her. This is how it went.

"HAY BUBBA DO ME A FAVOR TEXT ME RIGHT BACK JUST HI OR SOMETHING MY FRIENDS DON'T BELIEVE THAT RETARDS CAN TEXT........STEPHANIE"

BUBBA'S RESPONSE-"YES SIS YOU DID VERY WELL TEXTING ME THIS TIME, BUT I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT MENTALLY CHALLENGED WAS MORE POLITE TO CALL YOU!"

"Satan's School For Girls", Leann Hutchins and Me!

I married Frank Joiner Jr. at the age of 16....Yes, I'm from Weippe. Through out all my years growing up in Weippe, Idaho my Best Friend was Leann Hutchins. We spent a lot of time together, through thick and thin! Frank and I lived in a small house in town. I don't remember why he was not home for that night. Leann came over to spend the night with me, so not to be along. It was a Friday night. I remember that because Leann (same age as me) grew up as a Seventh Adventist. They don't do certain things during their Sabbath...like watching tv! Guess what we was doing....YES WATCHING A SCARY MOVIE on tv. That movie was "Satan's School For Girls"
This 8:00 movie was really scary! Leann and I was on the edge of our seats through this whole movie. Funny how something back then would scare us to the edge, like this movie did. Leann and I was getting right into. Towards the end and the scariest part of the movie, the phone rang...OMG...Scared us girls so bad, we both jumped out of our seats, looking at each other... SCREAMING. It wasn't until the phone rang a second time, that we realized it was the phone ringing. We turned off the sound just in case it was Leann's mom and sure enough it was. I look back at this night quite often. My children have heard this story and so have others that I've gotten to know through all the years. Every since then I have search for this movie cause I wanted to see it again. Wondering what it was that made it so scary then and wondered if it would be scary now.
I was living in Santa Rosa, Califonia about 13-14 years ago. My good friend, Bill Cox and I went to the big Mall there. We had stopped at a shop and was looking through some movies. Guess what I found....YES...."SATAN'S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS". There was several old movies on this one DVD. You bet I bought it! We watched it once we got back home.
WOW...funny, man movies have really come a long way. It was so very scary then but now....wow. Movies have really come a very long ways from what they use to be. But, at the time it was really, realy scary! Thank You, Leann for giving me such a great memory and something to talk about all these years.

A True Story About The Baby Chipmunks My Dad Brought Home In His Lunch Box

I was very young. We was living in Tamarack, Idaho. Debbie (my little sister) was probably 3 or 4 years old, I would have been 7 or 8 years old. My dad had the coolest logging truck EVER, it was a really pretty purple.
While dad was working they had sawed down a tree with out realizing there was a nest of baby chipmunks in it. I believe there was 11, don't quot me on that, I do know there was a lot of them and I'm pretty sure there was 11!
Dad felt really bad for these baby chipmunks. He decided that he would bring them home and when they got a little bigger, being able to take care of themselves, we could release them. He put them all in his lunch box, fed them bread crumbs from his sandwich, he closed the lid, making sure they had plenty of air and not get hurt. I believe their mom was killed when they fell the tree.
When he got home he placed the lunch box on the table, went to take his shower as he did every night. He forgot to tell mom about these little creatures. When she opened the lunch box all these little guys went ping, ping, ping every which way. Mom let out a scream like nothing us girls had ever heard before. We went running in to find out what was going on.
My poor mom! Debbie and I got to see a couple of these guys bailing out of dads lunch box. We got so excited and thought it was the coolest thing ever!!!!! We've lived in the woods most of our lives, grew up with chipmunks but never as a pet or pets as in this case. All these cool little guys had scattered every where. Dad came flying out of the bathroom with his bathrobe on to find out what was going on, soaking wet. Once he realized what was going on and realized he didn't tell mom about what she would find in his lunch box. He bursted out in laughter and then so did my mom. Us girls were so excited and happy.
We all then chased every one of them to catch them. Mom found a box to put them all in with jar lids for food and water. BUT little did we know or at least think about, they can chew and that they did! By morning when my folks got up to get dad off to work. These little chipmunks had chew through the box and was climbing the curtains, and running up and down everything.
Dad went to work and mom searched for something to put them in, that they couldn't chew their way out. Mom came up with an idea...surely it would work she thought. The clothes hamper in the bathroom was made out of some sort of medal, with holes in the back they would have plenty of air. This would work until we could get something like a cage or something to put them in.
We all went to bed that night, the chipmunks were asleep and cosy in their new little home. A day later, by morning....GUESS WHAT.....they were out and playing in the curtains and running around, YES AGAIN. The thing now is I don't remember what happened to them after this. I'm sure mom and dad found them all a good home in the woods where they belonged. They were so much fun to play with and they sure brought a lot of laughter into our home.

My Grandson, Nike Was On Fox 12 News

This is a photo of my grandson, Nike, age 5 at the time, he also was on the news on Fox 12 News Channel on March 6th, 2010(a couple of weeks before Jeremy's news piece on Channel 7 NBC's News March 20th, 2010). He was so cute. Just go to http://www.fox12idaho.com and write in "rollerdrome" and you will find this video that has Nike in it. He is a AMAZING LITTLE BOY, he is definitely his daddy's son. Jeremy and Stevanie (my daughter-in-law) has done a GREAT JOB raising this little boy. You can bet this young man will be in the Olympic's one day!!! I'm a PROUD GRANDMA AND MOM!

FOX 12 NEWS AT NINE
"Still Open for Business"
Posted: Mar 06, 2010 9:33 PM MST
Updated: Mar 22, 2010 10:45 AM MDT
Nampa, Idaho -- The Rollerdrome roller-skate rink is still open for business after 62 years. There were around 200 people there of all ages on Saturday.

Every week it's a party at the Nampa Rollerdrome. Adults and kids have been coming to the Rollerdrome since 1948, and it's the only place in the Treasure Valley where you can break out those wheels on the weekend.

"I haven't been here for about 20 years, but I was raised here. Pretty much every weekend as a child," said Denise Becker.

Malt shops, sock hops and drive-in movies may be almost obsolete, but skates still roll on their original hard wood.

"It's still got the original floor out there," said Rollerdrome staff member, Lee Luckman.

"I get people in here all the time that say, 'I haven't skated in 35 years,' and then you just have to sit around and watch them and make sure they don't hurt themselves, because they're going to fall at least once," said Luckman.

Sixty-two years of the Hokey Pokey, Limbo and speed skating.

Skating has evolved a bit, though. The four wheels have shifted, and the question now is skates or roller blades?

"The kids that grew up on roller skates, and the adults that grew up on roller skates will never give them up," said Luckman.

"I am very thankful that it's still open, just because I really thought they would close it, but it's good family fun," said Becker.

It's located in downtown Nampa. The big skate sign is right off of 1st Street.

In addition to their speed and hockey leagues, they put on great events -- all-night skating sessions, birthday parties, prize days, and fundraisers, just to name a few.

It's not a bad idea for any day of the week. Go to www.namparollerdrome.net for more information.

"Rollerdrome Skaters Speeding Towards Top" Say's Channel 7 NBC News, (this is My Son, Jeremy!)

The video for the statement below was air Saturday, March 20th, 2010. The video is of my son, Jeremy and his coaching of the Rollerdrome Speed Skaters. The photo that I have here was taken from that video.
Jeremy has been doing Speed Skating since his very early teens. He has raced all over the United States. Even race with some Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze Racers a few years back in Las Vegas, Nevada and he came in about the 12th if I remember rightly. He even won the chance to go to the Olympic's for 2001 in Australia. But he got into Roller Hockey and learned his love for the sport. So he choose to do the Hockey. Which he is amazing at. He's been Idaho's BEST HOCKEY Player, TOP SCORER etc.... Jeremy's son, Nike started roller skating at the age of 3, he just turned 6. He also plays Hockey. And he is also on the Speed Stating team!!! Jeremy as recreated Rollerdrome Speed Skating Again. For the past year he has brought it back and now has teams that will be competing in the Nations. Channel 7 NBC News got it right, Jeremy will be taking it TO THE TOP!
In the story below they mention of two 2nd place WINNERS (they were racing in Alburn, Washington) one of the 2 Place Winners was my Grandson (Jeremy's son) NIKE, 5 years old at the time and his very first race ever. Yes... I see the Olympic's in my son and grandson's future! I am so, so very PROUD OF YOU, JEREMY AND YOU TOO, NIKE. I AM YOUR #1 FAN.

NAMPA -- Speed skater Apollo Ohno inspired a lot of people during the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, including a group of skaters in Nampa.

Members of the Rollerdrome Speed Skating team practice in Nampa at the Rollerdrome Skating Center.

Think of Rollerdrome like Olympic short track speed skating -- only instead of ice skates -- these speedy people are on in-line skates.

Head Coach Jeremy Campbell said it takes physical and mental skills.

“It is a very fun and active sport,” Campbell said. “Not only does it keep you fit, it keeps your mind sharp. It's not only focused on fast skating, there's a lot of thinking involved.”

The team competed last month in Washington state and earned two second place finishes.

The Rollerdrome team has another competition next month.

World's First 200 mph street bike, I Met "Henry Louie" Who Broke The First Speed Record On This Bike!

SUZUKI GSXR1100 Turbo
World's First 200 mph street bike
This is the one that started the modern turbo era. The first blow-thru carb, first intercooled, first 200 mph street motorcycle; the first fuel injected, 8 injector, individual throttle body system. Multiple 200 mph club records. Seems to have stirred up the best and worst in people. We had fuel-injected (Bosch) intercooled BMWs two years earlier but the shaft drive limited their box-stock top speed. The RB Racing Intercooled GSXR put Henry Louie into the double-two club i.e., 200 mph Bonneville and 200 mph El Mirage in the same year.! Henry went on to become president of the Southern California Timing Association Bonneville Nationals at the age of 67!
Stock engined Suzuki GSXR 1100 with an intercooled RB Racing turbo kit at Bonneville. Get an idea of what it's like to be on the line and go for record.

Suzukis are tough

GSXR's are tough--Keep the RPM below 11,000, use water injection above 10 psi. Don't put any trick ignitions on them. Run 35 degrees full advance drop you spark gap to.019", use NGK Race plugs, and you can get 272-350 hp. About 18 psi and 272 hp @ 10,000 rpm is enough to do anything. No one believes us but we do not recommend boring the motors, big blocks or Carrillo rods. If you over-rev them past the stock redline you will sooner or later crack the crankshaft. Stay with Suzuki's internal balance factors, they did a better job than you will. These are violent, sudden toys that get your attention fast...and will get you if you don't pay attention.

Henry Louie had everybody in the world race his bikes with about zero maintenance after we stopped our full time support of his record attempts. No one got hurt and a lot of people got their competition licenses. At one point Henry had the fastest bike of the meet in 27 contests. You have to carefully maintain the GSXR if you want to play with the big dogs, just ask Henry or Rick.
RSR Boost Compression Ratio Calculator

Click on the title above to go to our RSR Boost Compression Ratio Calculator. This allows you to run scenarios of how boost affects your effective compression ratio as modified by altitude considerations. It will give you a good idea as to why turbos go so fast and also how to plan your motor for your particular circumstances. Knowledge is power.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away
We don't make these any more so don't ask. In as much as the kit was actually designed in 1987 (we used a Canadian 750 with a GSXR1100 motor and 6 speed trans) we would do it a bit differently now, with higher output turbos and our dual computer fuel strategy...but it's all ancient history now. Several people like Rick and Henry have asked us to redo their GSXR to designs more like our ZX-11s but no one wants to pay for it...or they want free parts so they can do it themselves. Go figure. Please remember these were designed in 1987-1988 and like Dr. Martin Luther King we have already been to the mountain and seen the promised land The blow thru carb kits were sold for $4,500.00 and the EFI kits were sold for $6,500.00.

No we don't sell
Oh one final point for all of you who have copied these parts, please stop calling us up wanting to know how to make them work or wanting the parts you don't know how to make.

Now Henry Louie lives in Boise, Idaho and has the "Big Twin Cycles", I got to meet this man and WHAT AN HONOR!!! He is such a sweet man. The top photo was taken when he took the Speed Racing Record to 200 mph. The bottom photo I took of him, he is now 83 years old. Thank You Henry for giving me that hug!

The House and Dock That Was Used In the Horror Movie "Friday the 13th" And TV Series "Northern Exposure"

On the 12th of March 2010 my husband and I had gone with 9 of our friends. We all do the Mountain Man Rendezvous here in the Northwest. This was not a Rendezvous but it was the "Muzzle Loading Arms and Pioneer Craft Show" at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington.
This was my husband and I's first time. We camped at the Boy Scouts Camp outside of Monroe, called "Camp Pigott". Really nice place and a lot of fun.
On the way going into Camp Pigott of the Boy Scout Camp there was a cool looking old, old log cabin sitting on a small lake. It looked kind of spooky but also familiar. And I later found out why!
Later when one of the Camp Rangers got there we asked them if anyone lived in the old cabin. WOW we found out how cool this cabin really was!!!
This cool cabin was used a couple of times in the horror movie "Friday the 13th", "Jason" was the main character and a spooky one at that. In my photo here, I am standing in front of the cabin, standing on the same dock that Jason in these movie came out from under to kill his victim's. I walked out to the very end of this dock. It was a really creepy feeling out there even though I knew it was just a flippin' movie. But this place was so, so cool! I don't know what scenes where constructed at this place, I just think it's the cats meow to have the honor to have stumbled on this treasure!
Also...this same cabin was used in the TV Series "Northern Exposure". This is probably on of the main reason why it looked so familiar. I watched this show alot when I was living in California for 6-7 years. The character "Maurice J. Minnifield" was played by actor Barry Corbin, lived in this same cabin in the TV Series "Northern Exposure". This I felt was the neatest thing of this whole trip. Thank You Camp Pigott for letting us camp here and explore this amazing cabin!!

Please Understand My Story The Other Day

The story of my dad that I wrote the other day is a hard story, but please understand even though this happened we had a lot of really good times, too. We traveled to lots of really neat places, camped, went to the North Fork of the Clearwater River and so much more. There was only four beatings that really I remember. Every weekend we usually did something fun. My dad was a hard working man. And he provided for us. So I have to say the good out weighted the bad of him. I'm not excusing what he had done, I am saying that most of the time he was okay and fun to be with. But there is still a very thin line between love and hate. Please understand the older I got things got better between my dad and my mom.

Mom...This Is For You

Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name.
All I have are memories and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part.
God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

As I Watch In Horror As My Dad Beat My Beautiful Mom

From a young age of memories of my dads beating on my mom are horrifying. My first memory that I can think of was in Council, Idaho. I was very, very young, maybe 1st or 2nd grade. Debbie my baby sister is 4 years younger than I. There's a motel by the last corner of this tiny town and this is where it all happened.
I don't recall what lead up to this, I wish that this whole thing was block out but it's not. No memory of what started this horrible beating.
What I remember is dad beating on my mom somehow it ended up in the tiny bathroom. Debbie and I were sleeping on roll away beds. When it started I grabbed Debbie and under the roll away we went. I tried so hard to hide Debbie's eyes and there was no way that I could cover her ears too. I don't know what she remembers.
When the fight made it to the bathroom all hell broke loose. The bathroom sink was just a single sink, white! This I will never forget. There was no counter like sinks have now a days, it was only attached to the wall. Dad started slamming moms face on this sink. I watch in horror as more blood started covering the white sink. The sink started to come off the wall and it was no longer white but red from my mama's blood.
I remember someone pounding on the door. Everything stopped. I remember a lady tending to my mom. Some man too. Last thing that I can remember now is of me cleaning up the blood off this sink as it laid on the FLOOR, bawling and this lady sitting on the bed cleaning up mom, as mom cried and Debbie sitting on her lap, crying too. I don't know what happened to dad...did he go to jail...I don't know. But that wasn't the end of many years of horror.
Another beating I remember of horror was in Tamarack, Idaho. My dad was a logger. We was living in a tiny, tiny trailer. You had to walk through a tiny bed room with bunk beds on one side and through the tiny bathroom to get to the back bedroom that only fit a full size bed. I remember a door that lead outside in this room. The living room and kitchen was all one room. I know this is where we moved to from Council, Idaho. I was in the 2nd grade.
Mom had bought a Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass record album this day. Dad came home and Debbie and I was a sleep in their bed. Why? I don't know. But a argument started because of this record. Apparently dad hated Herb Albert. What I remember next was mom laying in this tiny hallway that went through our room and the bathroom on her back, NAKED! Dad was still fully dressed with his steal toed boots and kicking mom in the crotch with these boots. The next thing that I can remember is mom, Debbie and I are in the car heading to Walla Walla, Washington to live with my Grandpa Joe (my moms step dad, my moms mom had already passed away). My mom later took as all back to be with dad again. Years later she told me why and I will tell you that at the end of my story. I have talked to Debbie after dad had died about this night, she remembers this beating and she remembers her and I trying to pull dad off of mom. This I don't remember how weird is that? Now on to the next horror story.
We had moved to Weippe, Idaho. Every summer we would go to White Bird, Idaho. This is where we were living when I was born, but I was born in Grangeville where the nearest hospital was. We always stayed at Jim and Jo Killgore's in White Bird. Dad was always helping Jim in the orchards. Jim and Jo had a daughter Camille, who I became very close to.
One weekend while we were there. Dad and mom had gone in to White Bird apparently they were drinking. They had got into another major fight. Dad decided he was taking mom home back to Weippe leaving my sister and I at Killgore's. Camille, Debbie and I always slept out on the second floor open porch (like a balcony) that wrapped around the whole house. Very, very old house, but neat how it was built. We were sound asleep when a police car had pulled into the drive way. It was 3:00 a.m. Us girls watch from the balcony wondering what was going on. The officer went to the passenger's side of the car, we realized the lady in the car was my mom. Her clothes were a mess and dirty and torn some. She had scratches on her face and arms. By the time they got to the door Jim and Jo and us girls met them at the front door. Mom was crying and I already knew my dad had done this.
The officer was telling Jim and Jo about a couple that was going up (at the time it was the old White Bird Grade, lots of switch back turns and nothing to stop you from going straight down the side).(Now it is a 7% grade.) behind my parents pickup truck. They saw my mom fall out of the truck and over the side of the mountain. This couple went to the Police in Grangeville and told them what they saw. They also said the truck kept on going not stopping. They weren't sure if the lady was pushed or if she jumped. She didn't jump I can tell you that...I know she didn't!
They followed the couple to where this had happened, they yelled for her, they didn't know her name. She was unconscious. So at this point they wasn't sure if she was still there somewhere but the didn't stop looking. They called for more to come and with flash lights and flood lights, they started combing the hillside. This was dangerous because there are a lot of rattle snakes in this area. After a couple of hours they found her and they had an ambulance there and she refused to take it to Grangeville. She wanted to go to White Bird, where her little girls were at. So the officer brought her to Jim and Jo's. Dad never showed up here, he kept on going to Weippe.
Years later after mom finally had enough, I was 16 years old at this time. She devoriced dad and got the hell out of there. I aked her before she died...Why? Did
she stayed with dad all those years and to my surpize she told me "FOR YOU GIRLS!" So we would grow up with both parents. I will never do this to my children. There is a very thin line between LOVE and HATE! I hated my dad so, so bad but I loved him too. Guess I have never got over all this and I probably never will.
Please if you have a spouse that is this way too, please get out FOR THE KIDS!!!!!!

Something Comes Along and Trigger's a Bad Memory

A week ago Friday I was delivering flowers heading for Caldwell, Idaho. I was behind a white pickup that was pulling a black flat bed trailer. We was coming upon the 4 way stop sign at King and Victory. All of a sudden this trailer flipped up and started fishtailing. I realized the trailer was no longer attached. Thank God the chains held on to the trailer with out snapping.
This brought back a bad memory of my trip coming back from my daughter, Stephanie's wedding back in July of 2007. And this is what had happened then.....
I was in Oregon. I was behind a white pickup at this time too...how bazaar now that I think about it. Any how this guy had a big boat he was towing. With a huge motor out the back. There was a State Cop behind me, we were traveling the speed limit of 65 mph.
All of a sudden this guy realized he was passing his exit and put the brakes to it. I was following a good safe distance but his boat trailer didn't have brake lights. OMG I slammed on my brakes holding them now and praying to God that I hadn't seen my kids for the very last time. Holding now my brake with all that I had in me. By the time I got stopped you couldn't even see my car through all the back smoke from my burning tires. When the black disappeared, what came into view was the motor of this boat was a few inches from my windshield. The State Cop went around me pointed his finger at me and saying "DO NOT MOVE!" My instant thought was WHAT DID I DO???? This Stater went flying up around this guy and parked at a angle in front of the pickup. Man this cop was MAD!!!! He jump out of his cruiser and yank open the door of this pickup, pulling this guy out with so much force that the guy almost lost his balance. The State Cop ran this guy back to my car. Slammed the guys face down onto the hood of my car, grabbed a chunk of the guys hair on his head and yanked his head back yelling at him to look at what he has just done, almost killing the lady driving this car. I was shaking like I have never shaken before. Crying like crazy. I got out of my car, sat right down in the road just outside of my open door and bawled like I've never bawled before. The State Cop at this point had cuffs on the guy, still laying on my car. The cop ordered the man not to take his eyes off of my car and that motor. The State Cop then came to me making sure I was okay. I asked the Cop what did I do wrong? Then he realized the reason why I asked this was because of what he said to me as he drove around me. Then he told me, "Honey you did nothing wrong, this man needed to see what he has done. He almost killed you and possibly me, too!" This State Cop was still fuming, pulling out his ticket book and started writing ticket after ticket after ticket.
Every day I Thank the Good Lord above that I am still alive.

I Took Nike (my grandson) To The "Walking With Dinosaurs"

At this time Nike was a not quite 2 months from being 5 years old. On January 8th. 2009 the awesome show "Walking With Dinosaurs- The Arena Spectacular Show" was at the Idaho Center here in Nampa, Idaho. My husband had bought tickets for this show for Nike and I. This was our birthday present for our little guy! The NEATEST THING EVER!
I had Amanda Rae (my youngest daughter) ride over with me. Nike has never gone anywhere with me before. I knew that it would be easier for him if she was with me. When I picked her up a light came on my dash (my thoughts was CRAP now what). Off to Boise we went to get Nike.
When we got there, we loaded Nike and his seat into my car and a way we went. Nike and I were just so excited.
BUT......at the first light we got to....a couple of blocks from my sons place, and yes, with cars behind me....MY CAR DIED! OMG
I started to cry. This was a dream come true that just turned into a nightmare! NO! This couldn't be happening. There was a lady behind me and a gentleman behind her. They jumped out of their cars to help push me out of the middle of the road.
They lady gave a Amanda a ride back to Jeremy's house. I was still crying like crazy when my daughter-in-law came to pick Nike and I up. Dreams shattered into billions of pieces. On our way back to the house we past Jeremy and Amanda on their way to get us. So we pulled over and they had pulled in to the same parking lot as us.
Then I hear the story how my son (bless his soul) had farted in the car and wouldn't let Amanda roll her window down. Poor girl she was dying in there.
But.....my son...I Love My Son, took Nike and I to the Idaho Center and dropped us off.
Nike and I was just in ahhhhhhhhhh with the whole show. When the Dino's roared the building shook. The long necks were the nearest of all they were all life size and so real to life. The show was amazing. Nike got scared a couple of times when there was such a roar Nike would be up in my lap but he Loved Every Minute of this show. Together we made a memory that will last our life times!

Poem I Wrote For My Dearest Uncle Corky (Cortez Pike)

Life has handed me some rotten roads....
But...Uncle Corky, you have given me so many beautiful cross roads....
Life has handed me roses with many thorns....
But... Uncle Corky, every rose you have given me has no thorns....
Life has given me rivers that could not be crossed without drowning....
But... Uncle Corky, you've built me bridges so that I can go over them safely....
Life for me has but one angel.... she is my mom....
But... Uncle Corky, You are My Hero....
Life has given to me Love....
Uncle Corky that Love is You!

Rewards Of A Job... That I Love So Well

I work for Southside Floral in Nampa, Idaho. I'm the one who drives to peoples homes to deliver to them flowers, fruit baskets or what ever was sent to them. I have worked here since the end of March of 2009...wow, almost a year now!
Last summer, there was a delivery in Middleton, Idaho that I remember so well. This house was huge and sitting on the highest hill around in that area. You can see for miles and miles. Absolutely beautiful.
Friday (January 29th. 2010), Tammy (one of our designers) took a call while I was out in Middleton delivering. This call was from the lady on the hill. The lady told Tammy that this was the day of her sister's birthday who had died last summer. This sister was the reason why I had gone there in the first place. A sympathy delivery.
The lady on the hill loved the flowers she got back then, that they lasted a very long time. She wanted to send flowers now to her 2 sisters and her mom because it was her sister that had past, birthday. She was crying while talking to Tammy.
The lady on the hill then asked if the lady that delivered to her this past summer still worked for Southside Floral. Yes! Tammy told her. This lady then told Tammy that it was me that she wanted to deliver these deliveries. She absolutely loved me! Tammy also made a delivery for the lady on the hill...So I deliver to her too! She gave me a huge hug. Not only did I make her day...she made mine! I REALLY LOVE MY JOB!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF "Annie" Waltman....My Best Friend Forever!

I've known Annie seems like all my life! But it was not long before my son, Jeremy was born. We spend all theses years as the BEST of friends.
Before Christmas of 2006 Annie disappeared off the face of the earth to reappear in January of 2007. But I never saw her until February. Unknown to me until much later that she had returned home with bruises to her head until things started happening. She always told me of everything until now! We were the BEST OF SISTERS. I was so much closer to her than I ever was to my real sisters Debbie and Lillian, but I am this close with my dear sister Patty.
Anyhow....Annie started having seizures. The more time past, the worst they got and the more they came.
At the time even though she was having them, I didn't know that she didn't have a clue that she was having these seizures. I even spent much time with her talking about all this. Later I learned, all she knew is she would find herself laying on the floor. She'd all of a sudden be wearing her coffee her food etc. but didn't understand why. I didn't know that she didn't understand she was having these seizures. In March I tried to convince her it was doctor time. She kept denying that she was broken. But I knew and I wanted her fixed. It broke my heart. Finally I just made an appointment for her with my doctor (I paid every cent of these visits). Dr Penny, she was great. Dr. Penny knew what Annie meant to me. She started running all kinds of test, blood work etc.... One of the things Annie was lacking was Vitamin D. So I was taking Annie in every single day for a Vitamin D shot. She was getting a little better.
In May I was going over to see her every day. I took her these special drinks to her that I was buying her at Wal-Mart (I can't remember what it's called...My Ginkgo Biloba doesn't work that far back I guess LOL!)
Annie's boyfriend Lynn, of 10 years could get Annie to eat much. She was still having many seizures she was loosing weight, so these drinks helped a little. Dr Penny even set Annie up with a MRI at Mercy Hospital, Annie's seizures were getting worse. I stayed right by her side through it all. They put this thing on her head in hopes she could remain very still. But her seizures wouldn't stop, the MRI was cancelled. Dr. Penny, bless her heart, the MRI was on her. So we had to come up with money for a visit to a place that had a special machine $175.00. It is now May and still not a clue of what is happening to my BEST, BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. I got the money together for this special test that was set up for the week and a half after Mother's Day.
The Thursday before Mother's Day I went to check on Annie, and tell Lynn that the next day (which was Friday) she had to go to Dr. Penny for her last Vitamin D shot. He promised to take her in.
She was up playing on the computer and seemed like all of a sudden she was much better that day. I was excited. My husband and I left for Twin Falls, to visit with
some friends for the weekend.
We returned home on Mothers Day. I went to see how Annie was doing as soon as we hit the driveway. I was horrified of what I found!
Lynn was sound asleep next to Annie as she laid there in a constant seizure, foaming at the mouth in a coma. I woke his ass up and told him was to get her dressed immediately so I can take her to the Emergency Room at St Luke's in Meridian. I ran home to tell my husband what I found, (I only lived 3 blocks from Annie) I called St Luke's told them I was coming and told them that they couldn't put Annie in a wheel chair. They didn't listen to me either. They wanted to send a ambulance but I knew that would be too late! I immediately got back, Lynn was waiting outside with Annie's Lifeless body and put her in my car, I was so mad at him at this point!!!! As soon as I got to the hospital they were waiting with a wheelchair...I told the guy that there was no way a wheel chair would work. He told me different. He took her out of the car tried to put her in the wheel chair and couldn't, she was in constant seizures and stiff as a board!!! He jumped in my car and drove her to a different door and ran her in himself.
MY friend, my friend, my friend....what was happening this isn't happening to my best friend, my sister, my buddy, my world. Annie...Annie. They stuck her in an Ambulance and off to Boise, fast we went. I was following in my car, flashers on speeding in hopes she would make it that far. She did. I called her sister, and they tried to blame me. But later they realized it was because of me that she didn't die sooner. But they blocked me from seeing her just family they said. My heart was broken in million of peices. They day she died I was allowed to go see her. I send several hours with her. I whispered to her, that it is okay go, she didn't need to suffer any more, that I will always love her.
That evening at 9:00 on June 29th I was at home sitting on my my front porch no wind at all, beautiful sunset I looked into the sunset and said "Annie are you okay?" and then there was a breeze and a chill on my skin and I knew that it was her telling me she was okay. She died at 3 minutes after nine. Every day I miss my best friend I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!

My Dear, Dear Friend Glena

Just want to say Thank You, for today....
Just want to say Thank You, for giving me songs....
Just want to say Thank You, for yesterday....
Just want to say Thank You, for tomorrow....
Just want to say Thank You, for being you....
Just want to say THANK YOU, My Dear, Dear Friend!

Today I'm Happy....Everyday I"m Happy....

I have endured some pretty rough roads through out my life. Just about every single job I have ever worked someone or more has asked "Are you always this happy?" My thoughts are... Why Not?
I grew up in my childhood getting beat by my dad so much that Welfare threatened to take me away from my family, I was 15 years old. I swear everywhere we ever lived was a willow tree. My dad had this process for me (just last year I found out why) but this was not with my sister Debbie. She got away with murder...SHE WAS DADDY's LITTLE GIRL! She had him wrapped around her pinkie.
Anyway back to the willow tree. When my dad wanted to beat me, I had to go out and cut my own willow switch. This switch had to have the right withe and the right length. If it wasn't, right back out I had to go! Then I had to soak it in the bath tub for 10 minutes in hot salt water. Take the switch out into the living room where my dad waited patiently. My job, then was to bend over with out a single word, grab my ankles. Then 3 slashes (never more, never less) but they were the hardest that he could give. My poor mama couldn't help me cause if she said a single word he'd beat the crap out of her. And I didn't want her to say a word either. We, both would be scared. His idea was that I would think about whatever I had done through out this process that I wouldn't do it ever again. The thing is sometimes I didn't do anything.
It was a school policy that girls had to wear dresses or skirts, no higher than the knees. Apparently... My dad hit me below the knee. Someone from the school made a phone call. That's when Welfare people came to the school, talked to my teacher's, etc. and me. Then they went to the Weippe Library where my mom worked.Told my mom what has to be done. Get me out of that house or they would take me out themselves.
But oddly as it seems, I Love My Dad. I couldn't hurt him this way...Why? I have no clue. But, I hated him, too. The main reason was the way he had beat my mom all these years. It wasn't all the time you see. But when he did they were bad! It's because of her beatings that I hated him the most. I would rather that he beat on me... NOT MY MOM!!!
This was when my mom and I had to come up with a plan. I had been dating Frank Joiner since I was 14 years old. I Love Him... I married him when I was 16 in 1973. But my mom was still there. A year later he beat my mom one last time. She left and never returned!
My life will never be saddened again. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST!!!!!

The Things That Are Wrong In My Dad's Obituary

The 1st. thing that comes to mind in writing an obituary, get the facts right! Who ever wrote dad's didn't.
Dad only went to the 4th. grade in Little Rock, Arkansas. That was the end of his schooling. He never went to High School in Washington, either!
Dad had 2 wives before ever moving to Idaho after he was out of the Military. They all lived in Washington. He didn't move to Idaho until 1956 after he was dating my mom. Never married until after I was born in 1957. Some of his children weren't mention and this isn't right. So I'm making it right now with this blog!
Children not mentioned is Terry Dean Anderson (his adopted name) and Stephen (Steve) Leroy Anderson (his adopted name) and Danny and Donny (Twins) they were his by marriage not by his blood. They use to carry the Kannada name when they were little. That is why I found adoption papers in dads file box for them along with the others! They are now Riedels. I LOVE THEM ALL! They deserve to be known just as much as the ones who lived with him!!!! THEY WILL ALWAYS BE PART OF MY FAMILY EVEN AFTER DEATH!!!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!

"Poem To Mom" ....That I Got In My Email, Pretty Good If You Ask Me!

Poem to MOM

My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

'Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'

It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D.'

Mom's Reply and Thoughts

Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.

I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Store..
I told him, 'Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.

I've called and checked with C.S.D .
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.

I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best. '

I said 'No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.

Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine.'

He asked 'Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
The C .S.D. Requires
Just a roof over your head.

Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.

I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?'

MOM (Mean Old Mother.)
